ABRSM Music Exams

  • Hits: 241

The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) is the world's leading authority on musical assessment. ABRSM music examinations are taken by over 630,000 music students every year in over 90 countries worldwide.

Students who follow the ABRSM curriculum benefit from a framework of study developed by some of the finest Music Schools in the world - The UK Royal Colleges of Music. The ABRSM music curriculum is the result of over a hundred years of instrumental curriculum development by The Royal Northern College of Music, The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This provides an international benchmark for musical achievement.

As an experienced ABRSM teacher I know the value that taking part in music exams can have for teachers, parents and students. ABRSM exams are available in many areas of the USA however they are not yet available in St. Louis. The nearest examination center is Chicago. The ABRSM are interested in offering music examinations in St. Louis however this will only be possible if there is enough demand.

I am working with the ABRSM representative who is based in Chicago to see if we can work on raising awareness about the excellent benefits working with this system offers, including the use of ABRSM music examination curriculum's, which include pieces of music for each grade level, scales, sight reading and aural training.

Please complete this form if you are interested to learn more about ABRSM music examinations in St. Louis and to receive ABRSM related emails. A FREE workshop will take place with the ABRSM representative who will be traveling in from Chicago for the event. Please let us know your preferred time to attend this workshop.

For more information about the ABRSM please to to www.abrsm.org/us.

Many students find it useful to follow the ABRSM curriculum even if they are unable to travel to take the actual exam. For these students a "mock" exam can be arranged with either their regular teacher or another local teacher in the area. Please contact me if this is something you may be interested in.

I have a limited amount of free promotional materials to distribute to teachers about ABRSM examinations. Please let me know if you are interested and I will send you the information. I owe you a big thank you for the piano lessons. My piano playing and lessons have been the one thing that I do just for me - they have been a great source of pleasure, fun and relaxation.

Students made considerable progress and enjoyed their lessons.
